Angry Birds Attack (of my craft room)

adapted from tutorial found on Niki Toll's website
at www.stampinwithniki.blogspot.com
Well, this weekend didn't turn out exactly as planned. My oldest son picked up some sort of virus and ended up in the hospital Sunday night with a fever that topped just over 105. Slightly scary.

The good news is that his fever is under control and we've been hanging low all day today to help him recover. And that gave me some time to spend in the craft room. Of course, as soon as I went up there, I was joined by the boys.

Luckily, I had seen a few posts on Pinterest demonstrating how to craft the characters from the Angry Birds video game...so that gave them the inspiration they needed to get to work. You can find an excellent tutorial on Niki Toll's website. This bookmark was my younger son's adaptation (with a little help from Mom on the slingshot and sticker placement). Not a bad job for a 7 year old! He is so excited to bring it into school tomorrow.

Graduation Central

Well in just two short weeks we'll be celebrating two of four graduations this spring. My nephew Ben has graduated from the University of Chicago (where did the time go...wasn't he just the ring-bearer at our wedding?)  and his sister is graduating from high school headed to Syracuse University.  The following week my brother in law's kids will be graduating high school. My niece is heading to Elon University and my nephew has been accepted to the University of Delaware (but has a wait list contender to consider as well). So needless to say, I will be spending a lot of time in the craft room trying to make them a special card for their special days!

Here is the first contender...don't you just love the little guy? He's from the Smarty Pants set from Paper Smooches...one of my favorites!

Sentiment stamps from The Alley Ways Stamps (Jibber Jabber), Inkadinkadoo, and Memory Box.. Image stamp from  Paper Smooches (Smarty Pants). Paper from Bazzill and K&C Company (Sweet Nectar). Notebook punch from EK Success.

Another Long Weekend...Another Soccer Tournament

Well a spring long weekend just wouldn't be the same without a soccer tournament for our oldest son. We actually have two in a row...this weekend's tournament is in nearby Massachusetts. So to get in the mood for spending a day away from my craft room, I decided to pull out my favorite soccer scrapbook pages (made for last year's Team Brazil Travel team). Many of the kids have returned this year...so maybe I can get away with just copying the layout again this year. Only kidding!

Hope you all enjoy the long weekend and find a little time for some craftiness!

There's a Party Posse Going On

So it's been a while since I posted last...so much going on. I ordered and received my Operation Write Home logo stamps and have started a pile of cards to send for the soldiers. This is one of my favorites...using two of my favorite stamps, Party Posse by Paper Smooches and Hats Off to You by Lawn Fawn. The two companies share a similar whimsical style and so it is easy to blend stamps from each.

I have no idea where the patterned paper is from since I've been trying desperately to use up my scraps and clean up my craft room. One piece down...millions more to go!
