I just wasn't happy with a couple of the tags that I made for the last post and the thought of mailing them to strangers was giving me too much stress...so I sat down and created a couple of more (since I have nothing better to do than create extra Halloween tags). Anyway, I like these a bit better, although my first one is still my favorite.
Gotta run and post my layout for LOAD in Vogue. I'll be back in the next day or two to show you some of my latest layouts including one that is my absolute favorite. Have a great night.
We're half way through the month and I have 18 layouts done and many more left to create. This round of LOAD has been harder than my first one in March. It's such a crazy time of year for us with afterschool activities and fully-booked weekends, so maybe that is why I am finding it more of a challenge. But I am loving getting the stories told. One thing I am doing differently this year is actually printing my own photos on my printer. It is making a huge difference. Letting me customize the print size is opening up a whole new way to tackle a page. I don't have to crop out important features of each photo...instead I can just shrink it down and not have to include a bunch of 4 x 6 photos on every layout. Don't know why I didn't think of this sooner...duh? Anyway, here are a few favorites from the last week:
I am participating in my first ever tag swap with some of the gals over on the ScrapHappy site. Here are a few of the tags that I created. Not sure that I love them, but I think the one on the right is my favorite. I hope the other ladies like them. I can't wait to see what comes in my mail.
Now that the Operation Write Home World Card Making Day blog hop is beyond us, I can share a little of the other crafty goodness that I've been up to. I'm participating in the members version of Layout a Day, titled LOAD in Vogue. Each day for the month of October we receive a fun prompt as inspiration for the layouts we'll create. And these prompts have us traveling through the decades of the last century. Some of the prompts focus on the fashion of the times, the music, or iconic figures. It's been more of a challenge for me since I don't have pictures from those earlier decades...but I am having a blast and it is helping me tell the stories that I want to get down on paper. I just let the prompts go wherever my brain takes me. Without boring you of all the details for each prompt, here is a look at some of the layouts I've created so far this month.
Only 20 more and the month will be a wrap. I'm really hoping I can get the Disney photos from last Christmas done before the year is up. Thanks for stopping by.
The bloggers participating in today's hop have either created thank you cards for our heroes to send home – or AnyHero cards with notes inside written TO them based on one of the many OWH sketches in the archives. Today, I created a thank you card for the soldiers to send based on OWH sketch #134.
Papers are from Recollection Bright Christmas 6 x 6 paper pad. Digital stamp image is from The Stamping Boutique colored with Copic Markers. And the button was hand punched with a Martha Stewart punch.
Now, before you hop away, don't forget to leave me a comment. I will be choosing one lucky person to win some goodies (scroll down to the previous post to see what it is). But please, leave your comment on THIS post to enter to win. You do not need to be a follower of my blog (although I'd love it), however, you do need to leave a way for me to get in touch with you.
Enjoy the rest of the hop and happy World Card Making Day!
Tomorrow is one of my favorite holidays of the year...World Card Making Day! The blogosphere will be hopping with oodles of gorgeous cards to see and lots of great inspiration. And I am going to celebrate right along side scores of other card makers taking part in the Operation Write Home World Card Making Day blog hop. And as part of the hop, I am going to be giving away a little prize package including some paper, ribbon, and flower embellishments seen here.
So if you'd like a chance to win, come back tomorrow and leave a comment on my OWH blog hop card post to be entered to win.
